Edhi, Abdus Sattar (1946-)
Philanthropist. An outstanding social worker with a nationwide network of dispensaries, kitchens, orphanages, and ambulances, Edhi started with a small dispensary in Mithadar, Karachi. In 1975 he was a candidate for the National Assembly, but lost. Since then, he has devoted himself to social work.
