Punjab's most famous folk dance for women. It can be danced by as few as two dancers. Women enact verses called bolis and folk poetry. The subject matter of these bolis include a wide range, from arguments with the father-in-law to political affairs. The dance rhythm is set by the *dhols or drums and the distinctive hand claps of the dancers.
