Heavy Metal Islam... !!?

that's a pretty cool page Cat, there are plenty people of Islam that love metal I know that in saudi arabia Metal is very popular and many Moslem's listen to it, I am not sure about the more extreme middle eastern countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq not too sure about those countries but like I said I know that SA and India have a metal scene the size of it though I am not too sure about that. as far as all the different ethnicity's in the middle east and their Religion and Islam I don't have a problem with any of it other than the extremest the people that take it too far, Hamas, Al Aqeda, Bin Laden and The Taliban which is growing again they have regrouped and are getting stronger because we are too busy picking our nose in Iraq a country that has been a wreck for a 100 years most of the middle east has been killing each other for many many years I just don't understand how are politicians think we are going to fix things that have been a mess for 100 plus years NEVERMIND not going there nope lets move on as long an individual is not an extremest in their religion I don't have a problem with ANY belief system of choice hey if it gives the individual solace MORE POWER TO THEM, Cheers Cat

Wow, that's a great article!I feel ya sis, I mean I also tell my mom that i want to learn and play the Drums, she says No, but i forced her to except, i think she might let me next summer!!Well, you know that i agree that US Metalheads in the arab world are being treated Unfairly, and you know that period of time when metalheads in Egypt got arrested in the streets for wearing simple Band tees?! I managed to keep a low profile this time! Not Only the boys, well, us girls too, we're like Aliens in our own country!!We're not close minded, but i dunno, i think most of the ppl has this image of Metalheads worshiping Satan, which is btw why they canceled a Nerve Cell concert here :-SWhat else can i say?! They have the wrong Idea about Metal Music!!Oh well, we're the ones who're gonna change Egypt, Shahenda, How about making a band when i come back? I've lyrics, I'll learn the Drums, I can Growl sometimes too!!

I think its great. I saw on CNN about some Islamic metal bands. I would like to hunt them down online and check them out.I have met many people from the middle east, and they have all been so nice. I don't judge a person by silly stereotypes.

I'm a very extreme MuslimI hate all Nationalistic countries and believe in one Ummatil Islam and that the true Shariah law should be implemented and one Khalifah put into power. All Kings and Emirs should be banished or trialed for treason against Allah.I'm just showing you how much of a Muslim I am, yet I love rock music. And I adore the guitar, learn it if you want. Definitely check out the guitarist Buckethead. He will be a great inspiration to you.

That must be tough having to be binded by rules. I don't fully understand the religion but metal/rock music is about Freedom and there's no better band to demonstrate it than Rage Against The Machine. Unlike the likes of Bono who go around preaching about we need to do this and that and yet he's wearing sunglasses the price of which could feed a dying family is just hypocrisy in my eyes. You don't see the members of RATM going to lavish premieres or anything, they just to get messages across to those who need it.Some day I hope that there can just be one religion so people can't use it as an excuse anymore.

Wow. That is incredible. Thanks for showing us that. I hate useless stereotypes as well, and I happen to know many people who love metal and if you want to learn the guitar, I really think you should go for it. Why not? You have nothing to lose! Good luck with that, and very interesting article.

Wow I didn't know it was like that. It's awesome that metalheads aren't afraid to keep listening to what they like even though there are huge misconceptions about their music, and they don't care what the rest of society thinks.
