Hub River
(In antique sources: Arbis or Arbios) This river has its source in the north-south lying Kirtha Range to the north of Karachi. The river is 400 km, long. In its lower reaches it crosses the eastern end of the *Lasbela district. A barrage almost five kilometers long contains the water of the Hub, from where the river provides part of the water supply for the city of Karachi. The shallow lake behind the darn is a haven for wildlife, especially migratory birds. What is left of the river below the dam flows into the Arabian Sea to the west of Karachi.
