Hasan, Faterna (1953-)
Poet. Allis Fatema Zaidi (her real name) obtained her M.A. in Journalism from the University of Karachi in 1976. She works for the provincial government of Sindh. She is a widely respected poet who demonstrated a unique skill and artistry in her second collection. The themes of separation that permeated her first collection have lessened with the passage of time. She now peels layer after layer from her literary topics, exposing the kernel to sensitive yet critical inquiry. Hasan's literary thought stands independent of the conventional. She is courageously outspoken. Hasan does not feel it necessary to conform to popular guidelines.
