Bazm-i-Saqafat
(Urdu: Cultural Society) It was set up in April 1961 in Multan to promote national literature, exchange cultural information, and disseminate written works of cultural achievements of Pakistan's region. The society contributes to publications of classical and contemporary literature, the gathering and publication of folklore, printing *Urdu and English translations of the be t of national literature, extending financial help to publishing houses, journals and writers, cultural and literary centres, promoting cultural ties with Afro-Asian countries, and organising conference and symposia. The Society has its own publications in Urdu, *Punjabi, English, *Siraiki, and others.
