I want Pakistanis (or anyone) who know what I'm ACTUALLY talking about to answer this question.I was born to Turkish parents. My dad was in the embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan for 5 years. I lived in Pakistan from 1988 to 1993. I then came to the US in 1993, and became a citizen of this country.Anyways, I had a unique experience in Pakistan. The culture was up and booming in Pakistan. I studied in an international school in Islamabad, and the media was definite pro-America. The Pakistani kids with me were REALLY into the rock culture of the west, and I developed my "fatal" addiction to Led Zeppelin and The Beatles in Pakistan. I formed a rock band with some kids there, had posters plastered all over my room; and had all the rock albums. Those were great days for me.Pakistan had a unique culture at my time there: Benazir Bhutto was the prime minister, and there was a really 'hip' element in Pakistan then. Female music artists like Nazia Hasan were prevalent too. At my time in Pakistan, i saw true rockers there, and had an amazing time. They showed all the cool stuff on TV, all the cool ads (like Don Carlos). And the girls were just so cool at that time.I will cherish my five years in Pakistan, and will reminisce those times; because i had cool amazing friends. However, it saddens me what the country is going through today. I would love to visit that country sometime if they still had those people there.So, moderate Pakistanis, please give me your analysis on what you think the Pakistani culture was like in the past. And leave behind some good memories.This is not a question to offend anyone, so please answer if you know SOMETHING about it.

well i live in lahore,punjab..the current situation here in pakistan is almost as same as it was in 1993...there may be some terrorists but they are not in punjab neither in islamabad so the situation here is almost as cool as it was before or i might say that is more cooler n more liberal n more progressive,,but sometimes the conditions become sad whenever there is a bomb blast or something otherwise the condition remains normal
